Why Group Therapy?

At first, the idea of participating in group therapy might seem intimidating. It was hard enough to come to individual counselig, but share their private matters with strangers?  In my experience, people join group therapy reluctantly, but fall in love with it right a way.

Group therapy is almost the only place when you can talk about everything without ongoing censoring.  In group therapy — it's all confidential.Groups provide a sounding board, Groups promote social skills & are antidote to isolation.

One finds out that they are not alone in their pain, shame, or struggle.  Also, any time one group member makes progress dealing with an issue, it provides a model and is a source of optimism in others.
